Destination
Lanayru
Lanayru is where Hyrule turns green and wet — marsh grass, quiet channels, mist that never quite burns off even at midday. It's not a hard journey, but it's a slow one; the ground doesn't want to be walked in a hurry, and honestly, neither do I. Good for travellers who want scenery over speed.

Before you pack
Read these before you take the pack.
- Conditions
- Humid year-round, with rain rolling through often enough that I'd call it a certainty rather than a risk. Footing turns soft and slick along the wetlands. Nothing here demands special clothing, but dry socks are a small luxury you'll be grateful for.
- Hazards
- Lizalfos favour the reeds and channels, ambushing from water you didn't think anything could hide in. Electric ones cluster nearer the springs — respect the crackle before you hear it, not after. Keep your metal gear sheathed if a storm builds.
- Useful finds
- Voltfruit grows wild along the drier hummocks, useful for anyone nervous about the electric wildlife. Fish are plentiful in the channels, and hyrule herbs and blue nightshade turn up more often than you'd expect in the shaded, damp ground.

Route notes
Follow the bridges — Lanayru doesn't reward wading. The main crossings hold even in wet weather; the shortcuts through the marsh do not. Give yourself more time than the map suggests. Everyone underestimates this region once, myself included.
Merchant story
I misjudged a crossing here early in my travelling-shop days and lost half a wagon load of dry goods to water that looked ankle-deep and wasn't. Pip found it hilarious. I now check the depth of anything I can't see the bottom of, which is a lesson I apparently needed to learn the expensive way.
