Destination
Hateno
Hateno is the gentlest stretch of coastline I send anyone to, and often the first proper village most travellers see. Farmland, orchards, a beach, and a waterfall settlement further up the water that's worth the extra walking. If Kakariko is where people learn to travel, Hateno is where they learn to relax while doing it.

Before you pack
Read these before you take the pack.
- Conditions
- Mild and coastal — sea air, easy temperatures, the occasional squall blowing in off the water that clears fast. Warmer near the beach, cooler and mistier up toward the domain. Pack light; you won't need much here.
- Hazards
- About as safe as Hyrule gets, which is exactly why I like it. A few restless creatures patrol the dunes to the southeast — give that stretch a wide, unhurried berth and you'll never have a problem. The waterfall paths near the domain get slick; watch your footing more than your surroundings.
- Useful finds
- Hateno's farmland means fresh produce nearly year-round — pumpkins, apples, whatever's currently in season from the fields near the village. Up near the domain, the fish practically announce themselves; I've never had a bad meal that far up the water.

Route notes
Easy walking the whole way if you come from the peaks — follow the coast road south and keep the water on your right until the farmland opens up. The domain is a separate detour north from the village; budget a full extra day if you want to see both properly.
Merchant story
I keep a permanent soft spot for Hateno because it's the first place that ever let me set up the wagon for more than an afternoon without someone asking what I thought I was doing. Good farmland, good neighbours, no rush. Pip disappeared into the orchard for three days once and came back smelling like apples and refusing to explain.
