Destination
Central
Central Hyrule used to be the heart of the kingdom, and you can still feel the shape of that even now — wide fields, old roads, and the castle itself watching over all of it from a distance no one gets too comfortable closing. This is a region for travellers who've already found their footing elsewhere. Not a first trip.

Before you pack
Read these before you take the pack.
- Conditions
- Open plains, exposed to whatever weather's moving through — clear skies most of the year, but nothing to hide behind if a storm catches you out in the open. Ash drifts in occasionally from the castle's direction. Ignore it and keep walking.
- Hazards
- The old sentinels that still patrol the ruins are the reason I don't recommend this region lightly. They are slow, they are visible from a distance, and they are absolutely not worth testing. If you see one moving, you have already seen it too late to be careless.
- Useful finds
- Wild hyrule herbs and armoranth cover more of the open fields than you'd guess for land this exposed. There's decent foraging near the old farmsteads, half-collapsed but still growing whatever was originally planted there a century back.

A shield you can actually carry — not heroics, just cover.

Field reference
The longer notes, settlements, and shrines. When you know what to carry, shop the shelves or look it up in the Field Manual.
Route notes
Stay on the worn roads and give the castle a wide margin no matter how curious you are. The fields are honest, flat, easy walking — the ruins closer to the centre are not, and they're rarely worth the detour they cost you.
Merchant story
I underestimated once how seriously a new traveller needed to hear the warning about the old sentinels out here. They came back fine — badly rattled, but fine — and I have never undersold that warning since.
